A p r i l 2 0 2 3 | Abacoa &Alton N E I G H B O R S 19 Waltz, Salsa, or Tango Your Way to Cancer Alliance's “Dance the Night Away” 2023 Gala Local Celebrities Compete to Raise Funds for Local Cancer Patients Submitted by Cara MacVane For the third year in a row, Cancer Alliance of Help & Hope (CAHH) will host its “Dance the Night Away” Gala on April 15th, as thirteen local celebrities put on their dancing shoes to raise funds for needy qualified families dealing with cancer while they are undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiation. “The Dance the Night Away” 2023 Gala, presented by The West Palm Beach Fred Astaire Studio will take place at The Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, beginning at 6:00 pm. Chairs of this electrifying event are Janet Levy and Farley Rentschler along with Honorary Chairs Max and Joseph McNamara. CAHH has selected some of the best dancers for Palm Beach County's celebrity dance-off, and it will surely be another sold-out event! Thirteen local non-professional ballroom dancers will take private dance lessons from the Fred Astaire Studio to prepare for the competition and compete for Cancer Alliance’s 2023 Top Female and Male Dancer. Tony Dovolani, a professional dancer from the acclaimed TV show Dancing with the Stars, will once again serve as the evening’s Master of Ceremonies. Three celebrity judges, including Cathy Rigby, Actress and Olympic Gymnast and Louis van Amstel, National Champion, and professional dancer with “Dancing with the Stars” along with one local celebrity judge will select the trophy winners. Guests will enjoy cocktails from 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm followed by Dinner and the Dance Competition which will begin at 7:00 pm. The evening will include a special performance from International Ballroom Dancers, Craig Smith and Andrea Harvey. Various awards from different categories will be presented to the winners during the evening. The female participants in the “Dance the Night Away” dance competition include Diane Avonda, Victoria Herbert, Kerrie Lance, Gillian Lieberman, Kristina Olsen Madden, Gina Sabean, and Katherine Sheneman. The male contestants include Frank D'Agostino, Terry Duffy, Kyle Lucks, Joseph McNamara, Rick Rose, and Bruce Sutka.
