That question took hold when the market crashed. Doug then made the decision to transition from civil engineering into corporate training, and understand just how business really works. Several years of research and creative access has lead Doug right into the heart of it: “There’s a corporate script, a system, an engineered blue-print (invisible to most of us) that keeps highly successful businesses in growth-mode and on track. I teach small businesses that exact same blue-print,” Doug says. “There needs to be a level playing field at the start.” As de Tocqueville penned in 1831, “equality of conditions or access to the information - has to be available to everyone, at the beginning. But where you finish, that’s up to you.” Relocating from Austin, TX to Jupiter in March 2020, Doug decided to focus all of his attention on smaller companies. The key to it - as Doug puts it – “is small business has to succeed. It’s the engine that truly drives everything.” Small business has an unrivaled advantage over big business: Change. Large corporations cannot implement change as quickly as small business can. These big companies are faced with paralyzing paradigms that literally keep them in routine, making it more difficult to change with the times. Small business can change over night. “And sometimes change can be scary. One thing I learned in sports when i was younger (Doug’s a graduate of the National Sports Academy at Lake Placid, NY, for winter athletes), as frightening as change is, it’s necessary. You must be willing to face those fears, and believe it or not, success waits right on the back side of it.” MEET Doug Phillips Submitted by Heather Storm I I 10101 Forest Hill Blvd, Wellington, FL 33414 Quality Care For Your Brain Highly skilled staff Minimally invasive neurosurgical approaches For more information, visit wellingtonregional.com Physicians are independent practitioners who are not employees or agents of Wellington Regional Medical Center.
