A u g u s t 2 0 2 0 | Abacoa &Alton N E I G H B O R S 11 Meet Mason Tomason, a Junior at William T. Dwyer High school and the starting Center for the varsity football team. Mason grew up out west in Loxahatchee, Florida. Mason began playing football in the 3rd Grade with the Anchorage Tackle Football League until bringing his talents to the Palm Beach Gardens Gators Pop Warner team before the start of 6th grade. Now as only a Sophomore this is Mason’s second year in a row on the varsity squad. “Coaches make a bigger impact than they really think… At Dwyer, the coaching staff put into perspective how far the game of football can take me.” The impact his coaches have made on him has made Mason fall in love with the game. It’s clear that Mason is a talented athlete and his work ethic shows through his accomplishments on the field. “Coming to Dwyer really showed me how to reach my full potential within the game of football.” One of his favorite memories playing football was his first official varsity start. “I didn’t know what to expect, but my I felt the support and love from my teammates which helped me gained the extra confidence.” Mason has continued to utilize his confidence on the field and help other teammates who were in his position. With two more seasons of high school football out there, Mason has already acquired offers and interests from Vanderbilt, University of Florida, Florida State University, Stetson, and the University of West Georgia. “When I’m not playing football I’m either working out or hanging with my friends.” Mason also loves the beach and living in Palm Beach County is the best place for him to showcase his skills on the field. With an unmatched work ethic and an extreme love for the game, Mason Tomason can become one of the best linemen to ever come out of Palm Beach County.
