Abacoa & Alton Neighbors - August 2021

A u g u s t 2 0 2 1 | Abacoa &Alton N E I G H B O R S 23 COMMUNITY CORNER We’re Smitten With Charlie & Joe’s at Love Street By Jennifer Cantin With four unique experiences in a single location, Charlie & Joe’s at Love Street was designed to be The Heart of Jupiter! Since opening in mid-February, the restaurants have captivated locals and visitors with creative culinary offerings, distinctive design elements, and magnificent water views. Joe Namath and Charlie Modica have been dreaming about this project for the last 10 years. As partners and friends, their vision for the 2-acre site was to create a fun destination that honored Jupiter’s history. Modica and Namath worked with Collins Development Company, award-winning hospitality designer Callin Fortis of Bigtime Design Studios, and creative hospitality guru Stephen Asprinio to bring their concept to life. “The big picture goal for Charlie & Joe’s at Love Street was to create an experience,” said Jeff Collins from Collins Development Company. “We didn’t just want to build four restaurants. Each venue needed to be able to stand alone, but they also had to complement each other.” Lucky Shuck offers eclectic Gulf Coast cuisine and a selection of Southern specialties. As a taphouse, Lucky Shuck boasts more than 40 beers from local breweries, including its signature blonde ale, Love + Passion. In the same building, The Tacklebox is a boutique seafood market offering to-go items and a selection of fresh fish. Dock your boat at one of the slips at Charlie & Joe’s at Love Street and The Tacklebox will deliver its chef-inspired sandwiches, salads, and poke bowls right to you. Across the heart- shaped courtyard, you’ll find BEACON. The contemporary American grille features an exhibition kitchen allowing guests to watch as the culinary team creates coastal Mediterranean cuisine. Upstairs, Topside beckons with the best views of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse. Polynesian- inspired décor and the resident DJ set the vibe at this rooftop bar that offers extensive tiki cocktail creations and a Basque-style tapas menu. All four restaurants at Charlie & Joe’s at Love Street are managed by Lessing’s Hospitality Group. The family-owned food service company has overseen hiring 250 employees for the $30 million project. Lessing’s Hospitality Group, which also runs Pelican Club next door, manages more than 120 locations throughout the Northeast and Florida. Every element at Charlie & Joe’s at Love Street is deliberate. Just as its namesakes hoped, it’s a destination as warm and welcoming as South Florida.
