By Christina Naugle PA-C, Lickstein Medical Spa Many patients are interested in seeking out body contouring options, but the thought of surgical intervention at times is intimidating. Lickstein Plastic Surgery Medspa offers Kybella, Coolsculpting Elite, Emsculpt Neo, QWO and Sculptra as the non-surgical body contouring options. The patient’s perspective will continue to evolve with medical advancements. Currently, the trend remains that patients present to the plastic surgeon to discuss liposuction or “tummy tucks”, thinking surgery is the only option. However, we are no longer limited to surgical intervention. Similarly, patients use to present to plastic surgeons for a facelift and maybe directed to fillers. Now, this specialty has opened the door to the population as cost and surgical fear are no longer. Kybella is an injection that can be specifically placed in almost any area of the body, off label, and permanently reduce fat. Coolsculpt Elite is a treatment that can reduce fat through cryolipolysis. For patients who are fearful of needles coolsculpt is an amazing modality to treat fullness without ever seeing a needle or syringe. Both of these modalities can be used all over the body to reduce small areas of fullness. After reducing fullness, the Emsculpt Neo can be used to help build muscle further improving shape. This is an exciting new piece of equipment for our medspa. These non-surgical options have really expanded our male patient demographic. On a side note, that is one of my favorite things about Lickstein plastic surgery, we truly have something to help everyone feel more confident. QWO is the newest injection for cellulite treatment for the gluteal area and thighs. This is often used with Sculptra to help improve the gluteal area contour. Sculptra is a filler and injectable used off label in the arms, décolleté, and gluteal area to help contour and improve “crepey” skin.
