While spending time all under one roof, Susan loves to cook for everyone. To her, cooking and setting a table is a joy. “We are extremely competitive. At Thanksgiving, we host an annual Turkey Trot Table Tennis Tournament. At Christmas we host the annual Peppermint Pool-Palooza! There are belts on the line - literally championship belts,” Susan shares. You can bet, with all the athletes in the family – this competition is fierce! The entire family attends Christ Fellowship. They love helping in the community where the need is great. In 2020, Susan was one of the nominees for Woman of the Year for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. “In my store, I try to give back to every charity that hosts a black tie gala. I am also a member of 100+ Women Who Care. The reach we have to financially give to area non-profits is rewarding on so many levels,” she says. “I have a saying, in my store when a new client asks – if we discount or offer something free (like the big box stores) - I say with a genuine heart. ‘I charge customers and give to charity.’” Susan’s first job (with her best friend, Beth - a dynamic RESIDENT FEATURE
