Having an ongoing maintenance program is the assurance that your generator will be ready to run, when you need it! Like Life or Fire Insurance, you pay for it every month, hoping it’s never needed; but you are glad you have it when you do! A well-maintained generator will provide you the “peace of mind” in a power outage and can add up to 4% to the home’s value on resale, which makes it a great investment, even if the lights never go off from a storm. Read the Reviews Social media, love it or hate it, is the best format for knowing what people are thinking. When considering a Generator company, see what other customers have to say… but more importantly, see how the company “responded” to those reviews. Did the owner take the time to “thank” someone for the positive review? Conversely, did they owner take the time to address a negative review, with an attempt to resolve it to the customer’s satisfaction? Read many reviews, on multiple sites (Google, Facebook, Yelp), and you will get a full picture of the business, management team / ownership and what the customer experience would be for you, when you engage. Prices are going up… In January of 2021, just one year ago, prices were 25% less than they are today, with projected pricing increases of another 25% coming this spring. It’s simple supply and demand. The cost of manufacturing labor, materials (e.g. copper wire), shipping, fuel, importation of parts (even though the generator is manufactured in the USA) and overall inflation is all up, which affects the price to the consumer. If you are considering a Generator, the prices will never be lower than they are right now. To ease the cash flow, for some customers, Joe recommends using “Zero Interest (18 month) financing” offered by many companies, to secure the lowest pricing, without having to pay for it before it’s installed. Securing Permits and Installation can take up to 5 months. Keep in mind, ordering in January or February will get your generator installed before the Hurricane season starts in South Florida.
