Abacoa & Alton Neighbors May 2020

My take away: a lonely little girl named Christmas brings together a group of girls called a “Birdie Troop”, providing her with those who will become her first friendships. She discovers she is louder with others than she is alone. The film ends with the group of girls calling up to the midnight sky “I am here!” “We are here!” The group is met with a meteor shower. From this, I related the concept of conscious resonance and its impact on metaphysical systems. If you wish, say this aloud: I am here. You are here. We are here. I asked my neighbors to write positive and encouraging messages on their sidewalks in chalk. I then reached out to Crystal Bolin, a local professional photographer, who dedicated non- profit time to document this special experience. Social distancing was observed during this project.
