I’m grateful to have been able to connect our farms to our families in Palm Beach County during this difficult time.” Distributions of immune-boosting food have occurred at several Boys & Girls Club locations including Max M. Fisher Boys & Girls Clubs in Riviera Beach, Marjorie S. Fisher Boys & Girls Club in West Palm Beach and the Belle Glade Teen Center in Belle Glade. Additional locations will continue to be added over the coming weeks to help feed and keep Boys & Girls Clubs families healthy. A number of local partners have come forward to support the Farm to Family program including: Michael Borek Farms, Alderman Farms, Pero Family Farms, Health & Happiness, Chavez Groves, Lox Farms, Gratitude Garden Farm, Holman’s Harvest, Harpke Family Farm, Florida Crystals, Palm Beach County Food Bank, Living Hungry, Aioli, Gratitude Gardens, Kai Kai Farms, The Garden Network, Ray’s Heritage, and more are signing on daily. For more information, visit farmstofamily.org . Donations from the community will support the collection and delivery of fresh produce to help those who need it. Fresh RX Kids’ network of local farmers will provide an assortment of freshly- harvested fruits and vegetables. A $30 donation will cover the costs of creating the box and the delivery to local families and children, helping to ensure they have access to healthy, fresh foods. Save Palm Beach Food As COVID-19 has taken its toll across the country, the restaurant and food service industry has been particularly impacted. Local Food Blogger (@eatpalmbeach), Cristyle Egitto, started a fundraiser “Save Palm Beach Food” to raise funds to help restaurants supplement revenues during this unprecedented and uncertain time. This fundraiser places catering orders at local Palm Beach County restaurants and food-related businesses to drive business while social distancing is in effect. Her goal is to provide food to our local nurses, doctors and first responders as well as families in need. It’s a win/win! Drive business to our local business owners and their staff while showing thanks to those assisting during this difficult time and helping those in need. “It’s been a lot of work, but it’s also given me so much to be grateful for and has been such an uplifting element to every day since this started. The feedback and messages have been so appreciative and heartwarming. It’s incredible to have a platform that allows me to get involved and serve our community when it really needs it.” So far, Cristyle has ordered from and supported several popular restaurants around town including Lynora’s (Alton), Raw Juce, Hog Snappers, Coolinary Cafe, Papichulo, Voodoo Bayou, CR Chicks, Pumphouse Coffee and so many others. This food was then delivered to first responders and healthcare workers at Jupiter Medical Center, St. Mary’s, Gardens Medical, Palm Beach Fire Rescue, Good Samaritan, and so many other deserving places throughout the County. “Let’s continue to keep these restaurants open and their employees employed. Let’s support our neighbors and those who give back to our community and let’s thank our front line today and every day. It all adds up.” If you’d like to donate, nothing is too big or too small from $5 to $5,000. If you have a specific restaurant you would like to support or a certain group you would like to see receive a food order, please place it in the comments and she will do her best to accommodate.
