M a y 2 0 2 0 | Abacoa &Alton N E I G H B O R S 31 KIDS CORNER As the Disney theme parks remain closed because of the global COVID-19 outbreak, they’ve been doing some special things to keep the magic alive and it’s all about the parks, films and yes, the FOOD! First things first: The Food! Disney has recently delighted fans by sharing the recipe for making their iconic Dole Whips at home! If you’ve never had a Dole Whip, it’s just the best thing ever! Imagine a creamy, frozen pineapple treat that is presented like a yellow soft-serve ice cream - not only delicious and refreshing and now everyone can make it at home! We’ve included the official Disney recipe, so you can make it at home! Disney+! Not only is it a “must-have” for almost every family with kids (and without), Disney + gave the fans a special early release of Frozen 2, followed quickly by Onward – which was practically still in theaters. The best news is that they will be releasing more shorts (like a new digital Frozen series that plays on YouTube), and certain titles scheduled for theatrical release straight to Disney Plus as streaming exclusives. Artemis Fowl, which was supposed to be released in August, will now stream on Disney Plus as an exclusive. Disney’s goal is to give people stuck at home more movies to stream as people seek out entertainment to fill their days. Become an Imagineer! Disney has launched a free online course on what it takes to be one of its famous Imagineers. Walt Disney Imagineering is the company that designs and creates Disney theme parks and attractions around the world. Teaming up with Khan Academy and Pixar, Walt Disney Imagineers has launched Imagineering in a Box, a free online course that gives you a behind-the-scenes peek into theme park design. The course will feature over 30 videos from Imagineers, interactive activities, and case-studies from the Disney Parks, according to a Disney Parks blog post. STEP 2: Blend until smooth. STEP 3: Add the mixture to a piping bag and swirl into a bowl. Don’t have a piping bag? You can DIY one or just dig in with a spoon!
