COVER FEATURE F or Jay Boggess, education has never been simply about preparing students for college. It's about preparing them for life. As president of Jupiter Christian School, Boggess leads one of Northern Palm Beach County's most established independent schools. His vision, however, extends well beyond academics. His goal is to develop students intellectually, spiritually, and personally, equipping them not only for future careers but for lives of purpose, service, and leadership. In fact, it’s that mission that has been part of Jupiter Christian School's DNA since its founding more than six decades ago. "The story starts in 1963," Boggess said. "A small contingent of Christian families bound together and started and founded a Christian school because they wanted a different type of educational model for their children." What began with just 11 kindergarten students has grown into a thriving Pre-K through 12 institution serving approximately 1,100 students throughout South Florida. Yet despite that growth, Boggess says the school's mission has remained remarkably consistent. "We were founded with the mission of: To teach the mind, to reach the heart, and inspire servant leaders who are impacting the world for Jesus Christ," Jay explained. That philosophy reflects what Boggess believes is often missing from modern education. "Modern education today focuses so much on what we're putting in their head, and we miss completely who they are in their heart," he said.
