Created by golf greats Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, and TMRW Sports CEO Mike McCarley, TGL fuses advanced technology with teams of top PGA TOUR players for two-hour weekly competitions in prime time, broadcast live on ESPN from SoFi Center at Palm Beach State College. When Jeremy was earning his degree in database management, he learned of TGL and its innovative approach to sports, media, and entertainment. “Sports entertainment is a tough industry to crack. When I first heard about TGL, I was like, ‘Who? What?’ But as soon as I started researching, I realized, ‘Wow, this is going to be big.’” While TMRW granted internships to several Palm Beach State students, including Jeremy, his skills and business acumen were quickly recognized, prompting TMRW Sports to offer him a full-time position. “I’m now a data engineer with TMRW Sports. Who knew, right?” Jeremy says, his voice still resonating with awe and appreciation for the opportunity and journey that have brought him here. A corporate transplant, Jeremy arrived in South Florida in 2003. After a decade working in information technology and healthcare administration, Jeremy launched his own boutique web design agency. In 2017, he joined Apple, which initially provided for his Palm Beach State tuition. Enrolled in the College’s Data Administration program, Jeremy felt a natural fit with Florida’s oldest public college, which covered his educational expenses for his last two years before graduating in 2023. With Palm Beach State’s Dean John Hadley (Business and Computer Science) and Dr. Theo Owusu (Jeremy’s lead professor for his Capstone project) endorsing the TMRW Sports opportunity, Jeremy started his paid internship in November 2023, despite not being an avid golf or sports enthusiast. In fact, not having preconceived notions, he offered fresh perspectives that TMRW welcomed. “In the first month, I saw how excellent the TMRW Sports organization is - people-centric with a great culture and an energy that have made me feel right at home.” Eager to learn and do more, Jeremy became part of the engineering team. Unexpected for an internship, he held a significant role with his work, visibly contributing throughout the organization. “I was writing code and shaping the consumer database platform. My ideas and input were taken seriously, which has been truly empowering.” Jeremy’s internship and position have both come thanks to the partnership between the College and TMRW Sports, granting Jeremy and other students the benefit of career planning and learning opportunities within a technology-driven organization. Likewise, Palm Beach State has also emerged as a leader for education through innovation, preparing students with skills pertinent for today’s workforce and high-tech industries such as TGL. Jeremy’s work touches a wide cross- section of the TMRW Sports operation, including ScoreSight (TGL’s scoring platform) and CapTech to develop the Consumer Data Platform, used to leverage marketing to TGL fans. Currently engaged in a variety of data projects with broadcast, creative, licensing and merchandising, and social teams, Jeremy helps bring TGL to life at SoFi Center and for a global television audience. expert contributor Jeremy At Palm Beach Gardens Campus
