Miller Medical Center in April 2026. Located on Pasteur Boulevard in the Alton neighborhood, this state-of-the-art, seven-story facility will house 156 beds initially, with plans to expand to 300 as demand grows. Named after the visionary founder of Universal Health Services, the hospital will offer comprehensive services including emergency care, robotic surgery, concierge services and much more. Led by CEO Gina Melby, the center is designed to meet the evolving needs of a rapidly growing community, bringing advanced medical technology, compassionate care, and hundreds of new healthcare jobs to the region. With its patient-first philosophy and commitment to excellence, the Alan B. Miller Medical Center is poised to become a cornerstone of health and wellness in northern Palm Beach County. In a significant move for healthcare in South Florida, the Alan B. Miller Medical Center in Palm Beach Gardens has announced Gina Melby, MMM, as its inaugural Chief Executive Officer (CEO). With a proven track record in hospital leadership, Melby steps into this role poised to drive the hospital’s strategic direction, operational excellence, and community engagement. Her deep-rooted connection to South Florida and extensive experience in hospital administration make her an ideal choice for this critical leadership position. While Gina may be new to the Alan B. Miller Medical Center and UHS as a whole, she’s hardly new to the field or the area. With over 3 decades of experience in the healthcare industry, all right here in South Florida, first as the CEO of Northwest Medical Center in Margate and, most recently, the CEO of HCA/JFK Medical Center in Lake Worth, where she spent the last 20 years. Throughout her career, Melby has been known for her ability to foster high-performing teams, establish strong physician relationships, and oversee major operational initiatives, and while she has done it with great success, it wasn’t always part of her plan. In fact, the path to hospital administration began on the clinical care side of things. “I actually started out as a physical therapist,” Melby said. “That was my career trajectory. Over the years, I was mentored and coached by leaders who saw my potential and encouraged me to explore administrative roles.” While taking the reins of a brand new hospital comes with its fair share of challenges, the experience Gina has puts herself in the unique position to build out an entire hospital system from the ground up. “I’ve had the opportunity to consolidate hospitals and lead large healthcare facilities, but I’ve never had the chance to build one from the ground up,” Gina said. “This is an exciting opportunity to create a patient-centered, physician-friendly environment from day one.” Her vision for Alan B. Miller Medical Center includes establishing strong service lines in general medicine, cardiology, orthopedics, and general surgery. “We’re building a facility that will not only meet current healthcare needs but also allow for future expansion,” she explains. “Concierge medicine will be a key component as well, ensuring personalized, high-quality care for our patients.” One of the ways in which they will be able to go about doing that is accessibility. Located just off I-95 on Donald Ross, the hospital is positioned to serve a broad patient base, from Palm Beach Gardens to Jupiter and beyond. Then, there’s the larger community outreach aspect, something that is near and dear to Gina’s heart. “I’ve always been deeply involved in community initiatives,” she said. “I’m currently the chair of the American Heart Association’s executive board.” Then there’s the education aspect, working with the local universities to help develop the next generation of healthcare professionals. “We will be working closely with local academic institutions, from high schools to universities, to create internship and training opportunities,” Melby said. “It’s crucial that we invest in the future of healthcare by providing hands-on experience and mentorship.” At the new head of a brand new hospital, Gina knows that she will have to rely on those around her to make sure things run smoothly. It’s one of the many reasons why, as she tells it, her leadership style centers around the importance of teamwork, clear communication, and a shared vision. “A leader is nothing without a strong team,” she said. “It’s about bringing people together, setting clear goals, and ensuring that everyone feels valued and heard.” As Gina embarks on a new journey in her career, she is focused on establishing Alan B. Miller Medical Center as a leader in patient care and innovation. “This is more than just a hospital; it’s a commitment to the community,” she said. With her extensive experience, deep community ties, and passion for healthcare, Gina Melby is well-positioned to lead Alan B. Miller Medical Center into a successful future. Her leadership promises a new era of excellence and innovation in medical care for the Palm Beach Gardens community and beyond.
