Palm Beach Dramaworks –Theatre to Think About Vineland Place WORLD PREMIERE By Steven Dietz Directed by J. Barry Lewis May 15-31, 2026 Do you love to curl up with a gripping mystery? Do you binge-watch British whodunnits, seek out movies filled with suspense, or gorge on true-crime podcasts? Do you particularly enjoy the intricacies of a psychological game of cat and mouse? If your answer to any of the above questions is an emphatic “yes,” Palm Beach Dramaworks has a play for you: the world premiere of Steven Dietz’s Vineland Place . The play was first seen at PBD as a reading during the 2025 Perlberg Festival of New Plays. In this two-character play, young writer Henry Sanders seems to have found the perfect job: finishing the long-awaited final book of the nov- elist who was his hero. Hired by the novelist’s widow, Henry finds himself instead in the midst of a rapidly developing mystery. Vineland Place is an intimate thriller, filled with dangerous sur- prises to the very end. Steven Dietz is one of the nation’s most popular and prodigious playwrights. His 40-plus plays and adaptations have been seen at over 100 regional theatres, as well as Off-Broadway and in 25 countries. He was named one of the “20 Most Produced Play- wrights in America” by American Theatre Mag- azine for the 2024-25 season. Come and see Vineland Place , and you’ll understand why. You’ll also discover the ex- citement of watching a mystery unfold live, onstage, without a screen separating the audience and the actors. It’s intense. It’s palpable. It’s live theatre.
