Today, under the leadership of CEO Christine Frederick, the organization continues to expand that mission while adapting to the growing complexity of homelessness and affordable housing challenges across the region. For Frederick, the work goes far beyond emergency services. It is about creating long-term pathways that allow people to rebuild their lives in meaningful and sustainable ways. “We need to create more sustainable, affordable housing. Ultimately, that's what's going to impact this community,” Frederick said. That broader vision shapes much of the work being done at The Lord’s Place today. While many in the community may know the organization for programs like Café Joshua or its outreach services, the scope of the organization extends much further. The Lord’s Place provides employment services, diversion programs designed to prevent homelessness before it occurs, outreach teams that work directly in the community, and transitional housing programs that help clients move toward long-term stability. That support system, Christine explained, often begins with outreach and engagement. “It often begins with food,” she said. “You break bread together, start some meaningful conversations, and a lot can evolve and grow out of that. You begin building trust.”
