14 P A L M B E A C H N O R T H SPORTS | D e c e m b e r 2 0 2 1 I remember the morning vividly. It was the first time I met Seth Ray, the founder of go.build.love. About 3 years ago, while looking through a listing of local charity events, I saw an advertisement for an event called “Party with a Purpose” hosted by go.build.love at the Kane Center in Stuart, Florida. Having never heard of go.build.love, I was intrigued and reached out to Seth. Seth and I sat down for coffee, and after hearing the go.build.love story, I remember telling Seth, “I’m in.” I was struck and moved by Seth’s passion for this cause and his dedication to “Build stronger communities on top of water.” Seth had a deep desire to change the lives of the people in the world and it shined through in that first meeting. I have had the privilege of supporting this organization, partnering with them, and now serving on their board of directors. I feel blessed every day that I get to be a part of such an amazing mission. Our mission is not simply to give people a water filter but to build up communities. The organization does this by doing assessments and having people on the ground in 3rd world countries. Along with the filter, we also provide a bucket, anti- parasitic medicine, and a bible. The total cost to us is about $50. For $50, we can change the life of a family for 10+ years! If we feel someone needs further medical attention, we will do our best to refer them to a local clinic or doctor. The GBL Filter is one of the most tangible and simplest ways to impact an entire community. In addition to water filter distribution, go.build.love will also drill wells if a water source is too far away. We have also built schools, churches, and clinics. We are truly focused on building up communities on top of water to make a sustainable change.
