Their latest, entitled Putting, Prosecco and Pap Peeps attracted an array of community leaders who learned golfing tips from Palm Beach County Commissioner Maria Marino, a former LPGA pro. Held at North Palm Beach Country Club, the fundraiser also featured melanoma prevention advice from cancer survivor and Legends Radio host Angela Manfredi. To learn more about The Pap Corps, please visit www. thepapcorps.org. “Participating in our Pap Corps’ pop-up event series is a terrific opportunity to make a real impact on cancer research,” said Toni May, Director of Palm Beach County. “While having fun and meeting new friends, we are uniting the fight by supporting new treatments for all types of cancers.” The Pap Corps has been raising cancer research funds for over 70 years, with their donations supporting groundbreaking cancer research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, the only NCI-Designated center in South Florida. Most of The Pap Corps’ fundraising is done by its 20,000 members within chapters, but the new Pap Pop Up events welcome supporters to participate on an event basis. During Putting, Prosecco and Pap Peeps, May introduced guests to the mission of The Pap Corps and discussed the Dr. Kevin Berkowitz Memorial End of Year Giving Campaign, which runs until the end of February. The annual fundraiser targets specific cancers, with this campaign focused on raising research funds for breast cancer, ovarian cancer, adult and pediatric brain cancer and melanoma. Angela Manfredi, who is a melanoma survivor, shared her inspiring story and spoke to the group sun protection tips. If you would like to help plan or host a Pop-Up Event, contact Toni May at Toni@ thepapcorps.org ABOUT THE PAP CORPS: Since its founding in 1952, The Pap Corps has donated more than $110 million to Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, including a historic $50 million pledge in 2016. The Pap Corps derives its name from Dr. George Papanicolaou, a pioneer in cytopathology and early cancer detection, who introduced the world to the revolutionary ‘Pap’ test. A small group of women began the organization to support his efforts, and over the decades it has grown into an organization of over 20,000 men and women, in over 50 chapters, who raise funds to support research for all types of cancers.
