Every single person has a role and is extremely important to the success of the event,” writes John Stirp, a Sport Management student. “It was cool to see how things didn't necessarily go according to plan, like weather delays, but we were always finding ways to adjust during the circumstances and still put on a great event.” Keiser University students got the chance to assist in various capacities over the course of nine 2023 Gold Cup preliminary matches. Some of these roles included game-day operations, broadcasting, VIP hospitality, and media relations. Graduate student Anthony “A.J.” Albers reflects, "The ability to play a role in running a major international event like the Gold Cup was an incredible opportunity. I was able to see the coordination and precision needed for the event to run smoothly for participating teams and spectators alike. There is a particular pride that comes with participating in an event that means so much to the competing countries and their fans.”
