We’re all friends. We all do business together in various ways, and we just figured, between everything I’m doing and everything they’re doing, it made sense to create a commercial brokerage business.” The result is FBL Commercial Realty, headquartered at 3535 Military Trail in Jupiter. Launched this year, the firm is designed to be a boutique commercial brokerage serving clients across Florida. “It’s probably going to be more of a boutique kind of brokerage business,” Levitt said. “It’s not going to turn into CBRE or a national major company.” For Levitt, the creation of FBL Commercial Realty complements his work with EML Realty Partners rather than replacing it. While he continues to grow his statewide investment portfolio, FBL gives him and his partners a platform to channel deals, serve clients, and mentor the next generation of brokers. Levitt himself won’t be running the day-to-day; that responsibility will fall to Frankel. But his presence as a co-owner and investor will help anchor the new firm with resources and credibility. “I’m not really going to be involved too much operationally, as my time is dedicated to running EML Realty Partners, ” Levitt said. Tommy is really going to be the one running the day-to-day of it. I think I’ll be able to run a lot of my properties through this entity whenever we buy, sell, or lease something.” From Baltimore to Jupiter, from selling off 50 properties to acquiring 50 more, Eric Levitt has proven that reinvention is possible with the right mix of timing, vision, and tenacity. And with FBL Commercial Realty now open for business, he and his partners are betting that the next big chapter in Florida real estate has only just begun.
